Seda lugu võiks rääkida väga pikalt. Veidi lühem versioon on, et ühel hetkel sain ma aru, et mul ei ole pärast kuuendat Tilti enam ühtegi konkreetset kohustust ees ootamas. Inimesena, kes viimased 25 aastat oma elust on olnud pidevalt ülebroneeritud, oli see teadmine samas hirmutav ja veidi peibutav ka. Et mis nüüd siis? Ja siis ma hakkasin peas heietama mõtteid, mis on mingil mulle endalegi jätkuvalt üllataval viisil vormunud väikeseks improringreisiks Eestist idas asuvates riikides. Nagu näiteks Venemaa, Austraalia ja mõned Aasia riigid.
Sellel reisil on mitmeid eesmärke. Esmalt muidugi ennast proovile panna. Reisin ainult riikides, kus saan pakkuda oma improtöötubasid või muid improoskuseid kohaliku kommuuni toeks, et oma reisi kuidagi ära majandada. Olen küll varasemalt samuti välisriikides töötubasid teinud, kuid seda peamiselt Euroopas ja lühiajaliselt. See siin on hoopis teine kaliiber. Teisalt muidugi tahan külastada erinevaid kultuure ja näha, kuidas sellist põhimõtete kogumit, nagu impro seda on, iga riigi kohalik eluolu mõjutab. Mis on nende jaoks improetenduste juures oluline? Aga improtruppide ja koolide juures? Või et, kuidas nad improt uuele publikule tutvustavad? Kõiges selles on juba Euroopa-siseselt palju erinevusi ning minu jaoks on põnev näha seda veel suuremal skaalal. Noh ja kolmandaks – reisida on tore :) Ühtlasi ma väga palju Eesti-asju selle kõrvalt ilmselgelt teha ei jõua. Nii et natuke “siin ja praegu” olemise puhkust tavalise rööprähklemise asemel kulub ka ära.
Selleks, et toimuvat arhiveerida ja vastata vähemasti mõningalgi määral kõigile “kuidas sul siis seal ometi läheb” küsimustele, otsustasin üles panna sellise blogi. Siit leiab tulevikus nii olustikukirjeldusi, reisiseiklusi kui impromõtisklusi ja ehk muudki. Mõned postitused saavad olema ka ainult pildigaleriid või videod. Jõudumööda hoian tekstid kakskeelsena aga kui jõud saab otsa, siis eks näe kumb keel peale jääb. Minu jaoks on see kõik üks “sammhaaval kulgemise reis” ja samas vaimus saab olema ka blogi. Head lugemist, kaasa mõtlemist ja kommenteerimist teile :)

One could take a lot of time to tell the whole story. A bit shorter version of it is that at one point I realised that I don’t really have any obligations waiting for me after the sixth Tilt. For a person who has been overbooked for the past 25 years of her life, it felt a bit frightening and exciting at the same time. So now what? And then I started to dream and talk about different ideas and doing that somehow formulated into a small improv tour in countries that are East from Estonia. For example Russia, Australia and a few countries in Asia.
This journey for me has many goals. First of them is of course to test myself. I only travel to countries where I can offer my workshops or other improv services to support the local improv scene (and to finance all this travelling). I’ve done workshops abroad before but mostly in Europe and for short-term travelling. This here is a different caliber. The second reason is of course that I want to visit different cultures and see how a collection of principles such as improv is affected by the local life of these places. What is important for these people when doing improv performances? But when running improv schools or theatres? Or how do they introduce improv to new audience? All these things are already very different in different places in Europe but it’s gonna be really exciting for me to see all this on a bigger scale. Well and for the third reason – I like to travel :) I will also not be able to be connected with the thousand things I usually do in Estonia so it’s a good way for me to stop multitasking and just enjoy the “here and now”.
To archive everything that’s about to happen and get back to at least some of the “how are you doing there” questions, I decided to create this blog. It will contain in the future descriptions of my daily life, adventures in travelling, thoughts about improv and other stuff I come to think of. Some of the posts might just be collections of pictures or videos. I will try to keep my texts in two languages but let’s see how long I’m going to be able to keep up with that. For me, all of this trip is going to be “one step at a time” thing and that’s how this blog is going to be operating as well. I hope you’ll enjoy reading it, thinking with me and commenting your thoughts about it :)
